Psychodynamic psychotherapy

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is based on the understanding that unconscious feelings, desires, and motivations influence our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and behaviour.

Within a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, clients have the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of their inner world, recurring patterns, relationships, and the meaning behind their emotional difficulties and symptoms. Through this process, greater self-awareness can lead to lasting psychological change and improved wellbeing.

Therapy usually begins with a small number of initial consultations, during which we explore your concerns, discuss your expectations, and consider whether psychodynamic psychotherapy is the right approach for you. Together, we can then decide whether to continue working therapeutically. Sessions typically take place once or twice a week.

People seek therapy for many different reasons, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, life transitions, or a general sense of dissatisfaction. Whatever brings you to therapy, the aim is to create a space where understanding, growth, and healing can occur.

Individual therapy for adults

I have an extensive experience in working with patients struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, psychosomatic symptoms, and eating disorders. I offer one or two sessions per week, usually in the open ending therapy contract. I believe confidentiality and trust are crucial for good therapeutic relationship.

Perinatal mental health

If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, have recently become a parent, or have experienced pregnancy loss, you are warmly welcome to get in touch.

I offer a supportive and confidential space to explore the emotional aspects of pregnancy, parenthood, fertility journeys, and miscarriage. These experiences can bring a wide range of feelings, including joy, anxiety, uncertainty, grief, and significant life changes. Therapy can provide an opportunity to reflect on these experiences and receive support during this important stage of life.

Prenatal Analysis

I have completed specialist training in Prenatal Analysis, an approach that focuses on supporting the developing relationship between mother and baby during pregnancy.

Prenatal Analysis provides a space to explore thoughts, feelings, hopes, and concerns related to pregnancy, childbirth, and becoming a parent. The work aims to strengthen the emotional bond between mother and baby, while helping to address anxieties, unresolved emotional issues, and expectations surrounding parenthood.

Sessions usually begin from around the 16th week of pregnancy and take place once or twice a week. The process continues throughout pregnancy and is completed around the time of birth.
